What is an NVQ?
Recognising Real-World Skills, Knowledge and Workplace Competence
A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) is a work-based qualification that assesses an individual's ability to perform their job to industry standards. Rather than learning in a classroom, candidates demonstrate the skills, knowledge and competence they already use in the workplace through on-site assessment and evidence gathering. Construction NVQs provide nationally recognised proof of competence, helping individuals progress their careers while enabling employers to maintain a skilled, qualified and compliant workforce.
